Position: Software Engineer (Python, AI Platform) – Remote

Role Overview
Mercor is hiring Software Engineers to build and deploy applications for its RL Studio platform. This role focuses on developing MCP servers, integrating real-world applications into sandbox environments, and ensuring production-grade reliability.
You’ll work at the intersection of AI systems, backend engineering, and developer tooling, helping power next-generation AI workflows. This is ideal for engineers who enjoy hands-on building, debugging, and shipping scalable applications.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and maintain MCP servers using Python (FastMCP or similar frameworks)
- Integrate web and desktop applications into RL Studio environments
- Work with APIs, Docker containers, and Linux-based systems
- Implement populate/snapshot hooks for application state management
- Test applications locally and debug build, runtime, and permission issues
- Ensure all applications meet platform validation and deployment standards
Required Qualifications
- Strong proficiency in Python development
- Experience with APIs, backend systems, and debugging workflows
- Familiarity with Docker, Linux environments, and containerization
- Experience working with configuration files and deployment pipelines
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to technical detail
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with FastMCP or similar frameworks
- Background in integrating third-party apps or developer tools
- Familiarity with web applications, databases, and containerized systems
- Experience in AI platforms, sandbox environments, or developer infrastructure
